Just read the first volume of Injection by Warren Ellis, Declan Shalvey and Jordie Bellaire.
It's typical Warren Ellis in that I am not quite sure I know what the fuck is going on or that I really want to, but I am completely engrossed by it and can't put it down. It's interesting to see bits of research he mentioned in his Orbital Operations newsletter and Morning Computer writing over the last year come into play in this story-particularly the bits about cunning folk and see how he used it (I love the behind the curtain of the craft kind of stuff).
And the art by Shalvey and Bellaire is just top notch. Beautifully horrific in places but the storytelling is clearly crafted while still visually interesting.
It's going to be a long wait for the second volume I fear though.

Just read the recent English edition of Philippe Druillet's The 6 Voyages of Lone Sloane, a gorgeous oversized hard cover album... Started in on The Throne of the Black God (the first voyage). So good, but by the end of it I think I started feeling a twitchiness in the brain. Sometime in the middle of the Bridge over the Stars (the 4th voyage) I think my brain melted, and by the time I finished Terra (the 6th voyage) I was sitting staring vacantly at the mind-blowing art and drooling a little bit. Time passed, I came back to myself, but I think a part of my brain is now permanently surfing the ether never to be seen again. These are from the French version (art's the same lettering is different) as I cannot find images online of the English version From The Throne of the Black God... The 2 page splash from The Bridge over the Stars... From Rose (the 5th Voyage) just jaw dropping sci-fi art. -M

Mate, Euro comics are the best.
Blacksad is one of the best, most beautifully illustrate comics I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I have an English translation, but also a plus sized Euro Graphic Novel in the original Flemish and it's wonderful.

Blacksad has been on my radar for about 6 months now, but I haven't pulled the trigger on getting it yet. I am slowly putting money away for the Moebius hardcover collection Dark Horse announced for next year, and the next Lone Sloane volume comes out in December. I also need to catch up on the Hugo Pratt Corto Maltese stuff IDW has been releasing.
I still have to finish reading the English translation of Secret History (I have omnibus vol. 1 and 3 and the individual issues that make up vol. 2, but have only read through Vol. 1, and need to retrack down Metabarons and Technopriests by Jodo, as those volumes were sacrificed in the great cross-country move over a decade ago.
There are bunches of other Euro comics I have on my radar that I have gotten recommended to me over the past year as well.
