Launch will be a bit yet, but putting this up here now, because I want to explain how I intend for this to work.
Weird Worlds will have a new issue up quarterly. However, the issue will not be put up all at once, but will be released piece by piece over it's three months. The first issue will be the Summer 2015 issue, and over May, June and July (or June, July and August if things go horribly wrong) new content will go up in the issue. Each new piece will be a post in the thread for the issue, rather than a new thread. I also plan to have a post at or near the top of the thread that will act as a table of contents and list what content has appeared along with a link that will take you directly to that post, or the first post in the story...
So for example, one of the pieces for the first issue will be a complete Claw short story (likely to be 4 or 5 "chapters" of 2Kish words each maybe-I am reworking the ending and not sure it it will be a single chapter or 2 at this point). Each chapter will have it's own post, but they will appear in succession so you can read the story altogether in one sitting or break up your reading by chapters. The table of contents will list Claw Chapter 1 with link to it, Claw chapter 2 with link, etc.
Again stories will vary in format and length. You'll get a complete Claw story in the first issue, but pieces of other serialized stories in different formats (possibly Stalker, Starfire, Star Hunters and Hawkworld), along with some scattered artwork or perhaps even a story told with words and pictures. Not every feature may appear in every issue. The amount of content in each issue may vary depending how productive I am over the 3 month period. When the 3 months are up, I will start a new issue with a new thread (so Weird Worlds #2 will go up in either September or October and be the Fall 2015 issue and be filled with content over the next 3 months... #3 will be the Winter issue in either Dec or Jan etc.
This thread here is for comments on any and all features, issues, or things relevant to Weird Worlds-critiques of content, format, wish lists, praise, ridicule, or what not. Some stories will take a while to be told as they are serialized slowly, but I hope every issue will contain at least 1 done-in-one story that has a beginning, middle, and end (even if the characters featured will likely appear in more stories in later issues). Some issues my contain multiple chapters of a serial if I am grooving on a certain feature I may produce more, if a feature is giving me agita, it may get skipped for an issue.
This could go well, it could crash and burn. The whole thing for me is an experiment in producing content and in storytelling formats. I hope you'll come along for the ride and even enjoy that ride.
