If you have ever enjoyed the thrill of the hunt for old comics or toys, you might like this youtube series... Comic Tripsa friend turned me on to it a little over a week ago and I have binge watched all 37 webisodes since. When I was younger before I moved out to the midwest from New England, I used to do roadtrips like that a lot, but not so much anymore. -M PS anyone alive in here?

Maybe it's just because I got into comics now when digital comics are a thing or because to go to another comic store would require a long weekend but I've never really got the appeal of going to other comic stores to search back issue bins, so this series will hopefully enlighten me on that.

It's the thrill of the hunt. It may be something that is lacking in the ebay/Amazon age where everything is available at your fingertips, but there was a certain thrill in going out and finding new places, looking for things you had never seen in the wild before, scoring something you never expected to find, rummaging through boxes to see what's there, etc. It's also about meeting people in those places, having a place to talk to people who enjoy the things you do (again no Facebook, message boards, etc.). The internet changed a lot about collecting, but there are still people who enjoy the chase, not just the acquisition of things.
