So, I know at least one of us really dislikes the Nu52 (Ha! Who?), but I had a thought, ages ago, about what sort of Landscape the DC Universe would under the correct conditions. Those conditions being; - People bought comics regardless of their Genre
- People bought comics regardless of the sex of the central protagonist
- I was allowed to actually make my own DC Line
HEROES BRANCH- Superman
- Supergirl
- Batman & Robin
- Wonder Woman
- Troia
- Aquaman
- Green Lantern
- Flash
- Cyborg & The Metal Men
- Firestorm
- Justice League
- Global Guardians
- Doom Patrol
- Elongated Man
- Hawkman & Dove
- The Atoms
- The Question
- Blue & Gold
- Titans
- Amethyst
- Teen Titans
- Birds of Prey
COSMIC - Martian Manhunter
- Barda
- Adam Strange
- Omega Men
- The Corps
- Monitors
- R.E.B.E.L.S.
DARK - Doctor Fate
- Shadowpact
- Shazam
- Shade, The Changed Man
- Demon Knights
- Frankenstein & The Creature Commandos
- Eternity
- Primal Forces
- Hourman
EDGE - Ultra Marines
- The Elite
- Men At War
- Blackhawks
- Dial H
- A.R.G.U.S.
- Batwoman
- Green Arrow
DC - All-Star Western
- The Society
- Freedom Fighters
- Legion of Superheroes
- Beowulf
- Breach
I'd give a little description about each piece, but i'd be here forever so...

I don't dislike the idea of the new52, and I read more than 75% of the line for the first 18 months, so I think I read enough to get a good sense of it. I just thought most of it was piss poor execution that emphasized all the wrong things and discarded the elements of the characters that made them timeless and enabled them to become icons that endured 75 years of DC history. The biggest pitfall in updating characters to be "relevant" and edgy" is that within a short time those updates become dated and passe and then pass into laughability and cringeworthiness, which is the course I think Didio and company set the new52 on. They were trying to second guess the market instead of trusting the characters they have, and they're still doing it.
Now what I would do with a new52 and the parameters you set up....

So if I had control of DC I would have released all of the books in waves instead of 52 in a single month. And roll out to the new 52 over the course of three months so readers would have a chance to gave all the titles a fair shake and decide if it's for them.
Month One would be 1. Superman 2. Batman 3. Wonder Woman 4. Flash 5. Green Lantern 6. Aquaman 7. Hawkman 8. Green Arrow 9. Action Comics 10. Detective Comics 11. Batman and Robin 12. Justice League
So the first half of the first month would launch 12 of the biggest titles. The idea behind this being that these titles would help to support the company with the small amount of books in the first month.
First Month Continued
13. Animal Man 14. Swamp Thing 15. Men of War 16. All-Star Western 17. DC Presents (a book to try new talent to comics. Break in new writers and artist to constantly produce new voices.) 18. Cyborg and the Metal Men 19. New Gods 20. Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. 21. Blue and Gold 22. Young Justice
The Second half of the month would bring in second tier characters and more risky books.
Second Month 23. Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom 24. Sentinels of Magic 25. Nightwing 26. Brave and the Bold (Team-Up book with unconventional pairings) 27. Green Lantern Corps 28. Supergirl 29. R.E.B.E.L.S (Adam Strange led Cosmic team) 30. Justice Society of America 31. The Question 32. Captain Marvel 33. Firestorm 34. Stormwatch 35. The Rogues 36. Birds of Prey 37. Suicide Squad 38. Legion of Super-Heroes
The Second Month would look to expand the size of the DC universe opening up magic and going deeper into space.
Third Month 39. Constantine 40. Superboy 41. Gotham Central 42. Demon Knights 43. Catwoman 44. Unknown Soldier 45. Secret Six 46. Savage (The many lives and schemes of Vandal Savage) 47. Lois Lane 48. Harley Quinn 49. Challengers of the Unknown 50. Arak, Son of Thunder 51. Batgirl 52. Seven Soldiers (The Phantom Stranger gathers seven random strangers to save the universe.)
