www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/michelle-maclaren-signs-develop-direct-752055I'm not overly excited about any of the DC Movies coming out over the next several years, but I will commend WB for putting a woman at the helm of Wonder Woman. This kind of diversity is really exciting and I think (hope) it will provide a unique voice that superhero films haven't seemed to grasp yet. That and her career is pretty awesome. Lots of great television under her belt. Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead. At the very least, she knows her way around a story.

All depends what kind of script they saddle her with. Thor: The Dark World had a female director initially, but she and the Studio couldn't agree on the script and she bowed out. If the rumored piece of crap script set n the 20s with the Amazons a bunch of squabbling small-minded bitchy tarts who are only set straight when a man arrives on Paradise Island is forced on her, Gloria Steinheim herself could be in charge of the film and it would still send the wrong message. If McClaren is given approval over script and the ability to to establish her voice on the film, then maybe there is a chance, if she is just a figurehead for the Goyer/Snyder priduction team to make it look female friendly but actually having little or no actual authority of the film's direction, tone, or voice (kind of like how DC editorial has operated under Harris and the various token writers connecting dots for editorial edicts), then the film will still be the disaster most of the WB slate already looks to be under the helm of Goyer/Snyder.
