So with half a season down I have to say I have really enjoyed this show. The midseason finale left it at just the right point to make me dread the time between now and January 30th when it returns.
Any thoughts on the show?

I am in love with this show. Is it Breaking Bad or House of Cards or Game of Thrones? No, but I don't necessarily want it to be. It's a comic book show that doesn't apologize for being a comic book show. All of the references come off as extremely earnest rather than winks at the camera. Even on Arrow it feels like a lot of the references to the DC Universe are just name dropping to make fans get excited, where as on Flash, it feels more coherent, if you will. Probably because regardless of how wacky the reference is, it's possible that it could show up.
I'm very excited for the season to continue and hopefully the show to last a really long time.

I love the show and think most of the complaints about it are borderline stupid. "Barry's powers are inconsistent... He freezes time practically, he shouldn't be able to get hit, they're killing too many villains, etc..."
The "inconsistencies" are tricks to give you a view into Barry's world or just turn the camera into slow mo for cool effect. Flash VS Reverse Flash, I honestly don't believe they ever really slowed down in that final fight except possibly during the car bit. They still fought at super speed, the director simply slowed it down in certain parts to make a more poignant impact. The only dumb thing I really thought he's done is when he saved Iris against Girder while Oliver pointed out his other flaws later on which "fans" were complaining about. He's not trained. He doesn't really know what the hell he's doing. He's barely been the flash for 4 months at this point if he was in a coma since December.
The thing I love more than it being shamelessly what it is (a comic book show with silly names and costumes)is that they kept their word about doing cool stuff with Barry's powers as opposed to being a show about a guy with superspeed.
Final thoughts...
CAPTAIN COLD HAS NO RIGHT TO BE THAT SEXY! He's supposed to be a guy with goggles and a parka... Not Chris Redfield. I also don't get how people can still be questioning the identity of at least one Reverse Flash. That stinger was pretty damn clear.

Well not even through the first season and I feel like Flash has surpassed Arrow especially after that last episode.

Man that finale was fantastic. Flash finishes it's first season in first place for me. I love the fact it is unashamed of being a comic book show. Can't wait for season two.

Well we now know why Arrow had to finish a week before Flash, because Flash blew it out of the water in every way imaginable. I cried multiple times during the episode, honestly wasn't sure how it was going to end and that bloody cliffhanger had me screaming 'Fuck you' at the T.V.

Yeah, that was pretty awesome. And relatively devoid of the Barry/Iris/Eddie drama that has been the one thing dragging the show down in my opinion. I was a little worried for the most part that they would end up changing the timeline to the point where it would really fuck up the universe for Arrow, which doesn't deal with time travel at all. And while the timeline has changed, I have found at least two or three loopholes that they could take to unwrite the time stream changes.
Call me crazy, but I don't think this will be the last we see of Zoom (or of Wells, who has always had a loophole to come back), but whatever happens, I'm along for the ride.
