Just as a general thing - I love Alternate realities, but I am not necessarily really looking forward to Convergence. Looks like a great way to purge Earth-2 characters, currently.
Which kind of brings me onto one of the things I'm really irritated about Earth-2. Aside from the fact that the JSA characters are completely marginalized in favour of yet another AU version of Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman.
My other major issue with it, really, is that there are some really stupid things in there - Green Lantern is agent of the Green, so he has Green energy powers - yet every other Avatar of the Elements has the same abilities they would on Earth-Prime. Why would they do that, unless they either couldn't be arsed to get creative, or didn't really think too hard.
Like, I thought, perhaps the Avatar of the Red could be Immortal man. Less power to channel animal abilities, more just, so long as they is life on Earth, he will survive.
So, on one hand, I think Multiviersity is genuinely one of the greatest comics I've read in a long time, but Earth-2 Worlds End is probably one of the worst. It makes me sad that the JSA are reduced to guest staring in their own book to a second rate Batman/Superman.
Blah. I want to see more Jay, and Ted, and all the other characters.
At any rate, apparently, in Convergence, Earth-2 Alan comes into contact with the Green of Earth-Prime. Might be interesting to see if the new volume of Swamp Thing is in fact about Alan Scott as the protector of the Green/Swamp Thing, rather than Alec Holland. THAT would be interesting.
