I have made not much of a secret that based on the rules/feel of the site, my Flash title is not going as well as I wanted because I'm forced to "shoehorn" (not my word... hehe) the Flash into it. Maybe I'll be able to continue it if we get the Multiversity thing going on but chances are I'm going to drop the title in favor of something else and I'll be going with an Ultimate Origin (well, kinda origin) story. (Also the reason you're not seeing me take Batman despite the knowledge that I love that mythos. My love for it comes from everything AFTER the Origin).
Both title choices will unashamedly be commandeering "properties" outside of their usual field. I'm not going Vampire Batman or Hockey Player Aquaman but I'm going somewhere and I don't really care about restricting people who are not here (but will work with them when they are). Hell, if I could get away with it, my Superman title would have Guy and his Red Lanterns but that'd be pushing the limits.
Shall we see how I do with the Man of Tomorrow?
Or do what I do best and focus on the street with a nearly mystical edge to the Emerald Archer?

What do you fancy, is the real question?
My idea really grew from two things, A) a novel I read which redefined what I considered to be magic and B) my love of elemental forms and stuff from DC. So, if you're wanting to do a Superman which is "radically" different to the norm, then go for it. Equally, if you fancy Green Arrow (perhaps because of Adrini utterly and completely destroying it) then go with that.
You say vaguely mystical edge...how so? (I always enjoyed the Green Arrow in the Star City Forest thing from Pre-Nu52, but that was just the right side of cheesy for me)

I have more of a stable Green Arrow story that I can go from point A to point B with little to no effort. As for the vaguely mystical edge, there would certainly be hints of that sort specifically because I intend to use I Ching and that's totally something I'd do with him. Hell, one of my campy ideas for it is to put the blind man in charge of Sherwood Florist just for the joke potential of a man who can't see somehow making floral arrangements.
It's mystical in the sense that Green Arrow is already Batman with a bow. They share the same level of crime fighting. They fight the same foes. They share a lot of similarities except it's not as cool to have an Arrowmobile and Arrow Cave sounds incredibly lame. Ollie can't get around the city gliding with a paracape. How does he patrol? How can he do so effectively without a car and jet? What if there was a reason his "nemesis" is named Merlyn? How do you make Batman and Green Arrow different? Arrow did a great job at making Ollie not an orphan which is an aspect I love and would use. Mysticism is another route. Only minor but just enough.
I'm not sure my take on Superman is truly radically different. I'll admit that Ultimate Spider-Man has really inspired me towards that story line. It's one of the greatest mythos to come out of the Ultimate Line. And part of the reasons its great is the way it changed relationships in subtle but interesting ways.

I Ching. Nice. Would Ollie wear a white jumpsuit as well?
(Total aside, I have to say, I do like the relationship between Ollie and Buddy in Justice League United. THAT is the only thing I like, but, there we are.)
I can see the semi-mystical angle - I sort of like that applied to Ollie. I don't have a "favourite" era of Green Arrow, per se, but I did like the return from Hester, and oddly, I quite liked Winnick and Willingham's take, with Scott McDaniel's art. I know that wasn't universally loved but...I did quite like that.
You're intriguing me with the Ultimate Spider-Man comments about Superman. Are we finally getting the Superman/Jimmy love affair we deserve?

I'm sorry to disappoint you but Jimmy never made it to my to initial claims. ;_; I may be posing it as a family title and have two spots leftover currently but I haven't added him. Really would be interesting though for something like that... *considers it*
