We lost one of the most brilliant writers of the past I don't know how many decades today. Man was and is a bloody inspiration to me because he kept going despite his diagnosis. Runs in my family. Terrifies me. I can only hope if I have the misfortune of inheriting it that I can do half as well as he continued to do until his death.
That's the second of my favorite authors to die in the past couple of years. Now only Piers Anthony is left. ;_;

He was best known for his Discworlds books, but I first discovered him as Neil Gaiman's co-writer on Good Omens back in 1991 when I first read that book, and its still my favorite work of his. Rest well good sir!

I only found out a few hours ago. So gutted. He was one of my favourite authors. I, too, loved Good Omens, such a perfect mesh between my two favourite writers. The dude was a genius, I met him once when I was a kid and got a book signed, I wish I'd been able to meet him again. Discworld is an incredible universe, so funny and poignant.

Man, it sucks. A proper literary giant, in a world of, perhaps slightly smaller monoliths. I've never had the pleasure of meeting him, but I did listen to the Colour of Magic. I think I might actually go back and read the novels.

I don't think I ever read any Discworld books, but I have read Good Omens. It might be time to stop by the book store to pick some up... But yeah, a true giant of Genre Fiction. His voice will be missed.

I really want to get the book where he goes into his thought process. I saw a few previews of it and how he came to write Small Gods was nothing short of completely random.
